Easy Events #3 Spice Cake DSP Christmas card by Stampin Up and me

Hi dear Stampers.

Thanks for stopping by again and leaving me your encouraging comments. It such a treat and I am happy that I am able to inspire so many of you with my cards!

This morning I had some time on my hands to create this card. Yip, it's another one I made with the Easy Events Stampin Up stamp set. This time I picked the Christmas image. So adorable and simple, but yet so elegant. And then that paper. You know, I could eat this New Spice Cake DSP paper from Stampin Up. (#124003 - $13.50 for 12 sheets of DSP) Well.. eat.. you know what I mean right! The Pool Party and Soft Suede together are such a great match in these colors. It doesn't need much help from me to turn it into a beautiful card.

Sandra from http://creaSandra75.blogspot.com gave me the other day the sweetest Butterfly Award for my blog. Please visit her blog, you will love it out there. Sandra is also from the Netherlands and through our blogs and now also through Facebook we really connected. She has such a huge talent of making the cutest cards. The way she puts the colors together and the images is each time a nice surprise. She also leaves me the sweetest comments on my cards and blog posts. Please give her a big hug from me when you visit her (smile) Thanks Sandra for the blog Award you gave me and for your friendship. It means a lot to me.

Well, I am off to the kitchen, the day is coming to an end and I have hungry tummies to fill.

Easy Events by Stampin Up and me

Good evening dear you.

How was your day? We had so much sun and I feel blessed. It is pretty much fall here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada these days. It is getting dark so much earlier than even a month ago. When we eat our dinner outside, then at the end of our time, we're all so cold, because the sun is already behind our house. The leaves are turning yellow and orange. It is like a second Spring with all those bright colors everywhere. I am not saying that I am ready for the cold. But I do treasure these beautiful Fall days.

Today I peeked at the Paper Players Blog Challenge #65 and I got so excited about Anne Marie's sketch. She is one clever lady (smile) Thanks Anne for the inspiration. I didn't take me long to come up with something I enjoyed making. Again I used one of the images of the Easy Events Stampin Up set. This set has 8 of the cutest images and 8 lovely sentiments that you can use on any card, even separate from the images that it comes with.

I picked the tree image with the 'sending you love' sentiment.

One of my friends is going through such a hard time with their tiny little baby girl. I don't even know what to write inside of the card, but I hope this card will bring a smile on their face. I pray God will bring peace to this little one and to her new parents. I can only imagine what it would be like to not know what is going on with your baby and to be so dependent on the doctor's wisdom and their knowledge. .

Anyway.. I pray God will be very close to all of them, for He knows how to care for what belongs to Him!

  • The colors that I picked are from Stampin Up's In Color series 2011-2013. I have to tell you, I am in love, they are beautiful. For the base of my card I used Calypso Coral card stock. + I used a piece of Pool Party DSP from the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack (#122384 - $26.95 for 40 sheets of 12''x12'' DSP double sided designs in 5 colors.)

  • And what do you think of the 3/8'' Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon. (# 122975 - $13.95 for 10 yards of ribbon) It is so easy to use and it really ads to the cuteness of this card.

  • And yes.. I couldn't help myself. Stampin Up made me do it.. it's not my fault (smile) That cute little button that you see is from the Designer Printed Brads (#122940 - $9.95 for 40 brads, 8 each of the 5 In Colors). Of course I had to dress up my card a little more.

  • That big Scallop shape that you see I got from my Stampin Up's Scallop Circle #2 die (#113469 - $24.95) that I rolled through my Big Shot. It fit's perfect don't you think?

  • And yes, you're right it is Kiwi Kiss card stock that you see. I had to use it. It is so retired, but still ads that bit of 'spice' that I wanted this card to have.

Well.. I gotta bring our kids to bed. It's that time of the day again. Enjoy the rest of your evening and I would love to hear from you.

Inky hugs, Pauline

Easy Events with some Calypso Coral by Stampin Up and me

Hi dear Stampers.

Yip.. those are photo`s you see on my blog from something we created this morning! Guess what, I was able to borrow a point and shoot camera from a friend. I am still getting used to it.. the colors don`t always turn out the way I want them to be, but who`s complaining. I have a camera to use!.. Joepie!

This morning I had some bonding time with Rachel, who is now 5 years old, young. She has been asking me for the last couple of days, if we could make a card together for her friend who is having a birthday party today. When I took some craft coloured wrapping paper out, she wasn`t totally sure that I had understand what she had asked me. But when I gave her a stamp and told her she could cover it with the cupcake image she got tickled pink (smile) There was so much dedication while she was doing it and many times she told me that she loved making her present `pretty`. Soon after she was done she started colouring the cupcakes one by one. We decorated an envelope and created a card together. A very simple card.. but it sure was a hit in her eyes! She couldn't`t wait to give it to her friend.

With a huge smile on her face she went of to the party. You know, I love it when a present isn`t done after you go to the store to buy it.. It can be so much more than that, once you get creative.

We used the Easy Events Stampin Up stamp set that is in the new SU catalogue. All of the images are so darn cute. It`s a must have for those quick cards you sometimes need to make! Dont you love Stampin Up`s Pool Party and the Calypso Coral colors I combined together.. It makes this card so.. loveable (smile)

Well, I got sandwices to make in this household. It`s past our lunch time :)

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Inky hugs, Pauline

Christmas Lodge by Stampin Up!

This card was created with the new 'Christmas Lodge' Stampin' Up stamp set that is available in the Holiday mini catalogue, that is available between September 1, 2011 and January 3, 2012. (#123769 - $31.95 clear mount stamp). I love how the Soft Suede is giving this card such a nice peaceful look.

Isn't this Stampin Up Designer fabric 'Spice Cake' the perfect touch to this card? the exclusive designs and a mix of warm and cool colours give this fabric the feeling of a crisp fall morning. Use it in traditional paper crafting to add texture and visual interest or use it with your latest sewing project.

I have to tell you, Pool Party is for sure one of my favorite colors of Stampin Up. Together with the more More mustard, Soft suede and Very vanilla , they all bring out the best in each other.

Stampin Up regionals 2011 Edmonton + You are loved by SU and me!

A hilarious presentation by .... sorry I forgot her name. .. I will get back with you on that one. She's the sweetest gal with a huge talent of making little mistakes and laughing about it and making us all smile and think of our own silly craft moments. I am sure you have some of your own!

Isn't this a fun photo? A whole bucket with 2 of the same Stampin Up wood mounted stamps from the ou are love stamp set. Love it!

Hi dear Stampers.

I know, it's been way to long. But in a way I am not complaining. It has been gorgeous here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I think we're going into our 6th week of sun! So thankful with the beauty that this brings. Soon it will be fall and winter again.. So I really told myself to enjoy it and be outside in the fresh air.

Yesterday I went with my 2 dear friends and downline members to the Stampin Up Regionals in Edmonton 2011. We had to wake up so early to be there on time. It is good that we didn't know how the morning would evolve.. otherwise we would have stayed in bed just a tiny bit longer :)

It was around 5 am when we were having our breakfast to make the 3 1/2 ride in the car from Calgary to Edmonton. We had a hard time finding a parking spot in downtown Edmonton. So all our efforts to be there on time went down the drain. (smile) Around 10 am we finally walked inside this huge Telus Centre where all the many SU demonstrators were crafting their hearts out. There were makes and takes to be made, many finished cards to be admired, workshops to participate in and there was a lot of catching up to do between all these lovely ladies.

I took about 200 photo's with my friends camera and I will for sure post them in the next few days / weeks on my blog. My own camera has been in the Canon repair shop for about 2 weeks now and they told me that it can take another 6 weeks for them to find out what's wrong with my camera. In my humble opinion I think that is terrible customer service.. 8 weeks to get something fixed? For a blogger like me, that is huge.. This blog will be pretty boring without any photo's. So I guess those 200 photo's I took will come in handy :)

Anyhoo. In this post I want to show you one of the cards I created at the Regionals yesterday. It is called the 'Love Card'.
