Trendy Trees by Stampin Up and me

Hi dear you!
  • How are you doing? I must say, that today I have a hard time with the 'writing-part' of my blog. Of course I want to say something like.. 'Happy Friday to you'. But on a day like this it seems so .. out of place!

I have been watching the news on Japan, where the earthquake and the Tsunami have hit. My heart goes out to all these people and their families and friends all over the world. It's so sad and so unbelievable. But the devastation is really happening out there. Oh Lord have mercy on them.

I find it so hard to continue with 'normal' life after watching these horrible images on tv. It makes everything so non-important. It is good that I have kids running around in my home that need my attention. They want to cuddle and play and eat and dress up and be silly.. they have no idea what is happening outside of their little world. They are just being kids, right?

That's why I posted a picture of them.. a picture with their smiles and their silliness all over it. They had so much fun and they really were the princesses in their own little world.

  • I went to my little world in our home in Calgary and worked on this card. For the first time I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig tool from Stampin Up. I have owned this Trendy Trees set by Stampin Up for the last 2 years, but I have never EVER been able to line up these cute trees on any of my cards. It was always crooked.

But today I had a little 'celebration' happening in that tiny room of mine. I lined them up and it was so easy to do.. Wow!

If you don't have this tool. I so recommend it. And I'm not just saying that. Suddenly I have hope for a whole lot of stamp sets that I own. Please visit my online Stampin Up store to order one. I am positive that you will get so much good use out of this one! And with the Sale-a-Bration going on at SU, until the end of March you will receive a free stampset of your choice on any orders of $60 before taxes and shipping!

Inky hugs, Pauline

  1. LOL Pauline, I can't believe you haven't had the smj until now! I couldn't survive without mine, and honestly use it all the time - watch out you will too.

Love your card, the circle, the squares & rectangles with rounded corners, it's just lovely.

The pic of your princesses is gorgeous - you're so right, the world is becoming a sad place with all of these natural disasters recently, but the innocence of children in their own little world is so special.

  6. You are right; the news from Japan is horrible.... But it's also good to be aware of the fact that we are so lucky to live in place that hasn't been hit by something as horrible as a tsunami. And because of that I love that picture of your girls; being aware how lucky we are. Enjoy them; moments like that are priceless!
Love your card; it's CAS and gorgeous!
    Hugs/liefs,

  7. That stamp-a-ma-jig is pretty amazing, isn't it? It seems like it is going to add work by adding extra steps but in the long run it saves time and makes for a great card. I love your line of trees, the layout and that little pearl in each tree is the perfect touch.

I'm so glad you posted the picture of the kiddos - definitely made me smile and remember what is so very important in our lives!
